Feature: Excel source-mapping

Trace extracted Excel prices back to the exact source cell

Side-by-Side Review now supports Excel (.xlsx) quotes as well as PDFs. You can trace extracted prices back to the exact source cell, the same way you already could for PDF quotes.

What this helps with

  • Spotting extraction issues faster, because you can see exactly where a price came from

  • Building confidence in the numbers before you level and compare

  • Suppliers who submit structured Excel quotes, where source mapping wasn't available until now

How to use it

  1. Open your package in BidLevel.

  2. Open Side-by-Side Review for an Excel quote.

  3. Click a line item in the extracted view.

  4. The matching cell highlights in the source spreadsheet, so you can check it against the original.

FAQs

Does this work for all Excel quotes?

It works for Excel quotes opened in Side-by-Side Review. If a cell can't be matched, that line item won't show a highlight, worth a quick check in that case.

Do I still need to upload a PDF to get source mapping?

No. Source mapping now works directly on Excel uploads. See Feature: Upload Excel files.

What's the difference between this and PDF source mapping?

None. It's the same Side-by-Side Review experience, now for both PDF and Excel quotes.
